An Introduction

Come on in and have a cup of tea in our visitors' lounge overlooking the youngstock pastures! It's nice to see faces around Prophecy Performance Horses, whether new or old. While we're on the topic of things that have endured, that is a well-fitting phrase to use when describing our stables. It can be challenging to remain humble when you can boast the age of your establishment, as at the time of this writing, it has remained a constant for nearly 215 years. We do our best to maintain humbleness, though, as has been the foundation PPH was built on all those years ago. Striving not to be the best or most famed, but simply to continue to exist in a laid-back, free-flowing manner in which each horse experiences a strong connection with its trainer (and the other way around) is our focus. Any other achievements such as those in the showring are considered a bonus, though we are nonetheless proud of our gentle giants.

Although the grounds have been devoted to equine matters for centuries now, the stables and herd within the fences have fluctuated and evolved drastically. Our original endeavor was to strengthen the incredibly rare Groningen breed, and they have always remained a passion. Hailing from the Netherlands, these docile light draft horses were a major foundational block in the erecting of the gallant Dutch Warmblood. Though our love for them has never faltered, the herd has always seemed to be "cursed" with either lackluster blood or some unfortunate natural event. We have likely restarted this project of ours for the sixth time, and just did so recently with our new line of Groningens. Our determination to see the breed loved, revered, and respected (as it rightfully deserves) will never die.

While the Groningen herd has generally been our primary group of horses, the focus has shifted over the most recent decades. During a period in which we began to focus less on breed and more on individual quality of horses, we acquired the ever-so-sweet mare Nidora, who began a lifelong love affair. After quite the successful run in the Dressage ring (which also cause us to fall in love with the sport), we began rifling through pages of stallion ads looking for her perfect match, refusing to settle for less. We were pleased to come across information about the Azteca breed, which may include blood from a selection of Baroque breeds, as well as the ever-popular American Quarter Horse. Our search became infinitely simpler, and soon, an assortment of Azteca-mixable breeds filled our stalls. Nidora later gave birth to Orillo, who then figuratively gave birth to an entire legacy of Prophecy Performance Horses.

Now that you are caught up on the background story of our lovely little stable, please enjoy the remainder of your tea as you hopefully appreciate the frolicking foals just a bit more.
